Had a great talk with some folks coming up from SD. Nice happy hour. Try the Breaded Pork sandwich. This is one of those places you'll come back for the company and the food. Enjoy yourself.

Great food and service. The place was clean and seating was comfy. Family-friendly place!

Have eaten here three times over that last three years. Food is good, beer is ok, service is hit or miss. What I loved: The waffle fries, the onion rings, the look of the fish sandwich (someone else ordered it) and that they cooked my burger close to how I ordered it. What I really loved: The cheese curds (if you notice a trend with deep fat fried items....it was just a fluke...I'm sure) What they could have done better: There were eight of us. You put us at two separate tables but yet there were other tables that could have been pulled together so that all of us could dine together. I'll be back, save some curds for me please.

Great cheese curds! Nice atmosphere. Service was good. French Dip was good. Reuben was OK. No beer this trip.

I don't have much to say because I only had a couple beers and cheese curds. Cheese curds are top notch and worth making the trip for. Nice sit down place for a meal, I'll consider it in the future.

Just a grill with average sandwiches. The best part was the fresh cheese curds something I never had. The curds were like mozzarella sticks only much better, even cold. I did have the prime rib sandwich which was ok the meat was a little tuff. The Sadi had with this was fresh, it fit the bill. The spotted cow beer was a good choice for the evening. I would go back to try a steak or other bill of fare. Well I did go back for the steak. It was a nice size and cooked right. The side of baked potato was good . The side salad had a good mix of greens although not crisp. The steak was good some seasoning would have made it better.

Hubby and I visited on July 3rd. Initially, looked like a great place. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was nothing special.....which evolved to food being nothing special either. Salads are a joke ...he ordered buffalo chicken salad. Very little vegetation, mostly buffalo chicken. My burger was basic, bun was old and the side of waffle fries was skimpy. Service seemed stretched thin.....always had to wait for something. We won't be returning for a long time. Hope the they can get it together!

A nice little place in the old heart of downtown Prairie Du Chien. The building appears to be older than the hills and historic in nature. The location is situated near the park of Villa Louis and the Siege of Prairie Du Chien - War of 1812 battle site. Easily within walking distance. We were really impressed with their French Onion soups, and under the recommendations of some locals tried the fried cheese curds. They were very light and crispy. The batter was done to perfection. They also have a deep selection of the uniquely Wisconsin delight that is New Glarus beers. The Club and BLT sandwiches we ordered were layered with generous portions of bacon in consideration of the price-point. We thought the help was very good and left satisfied.

When I went to PDC it was for a job interview and we stayed at a hotel right around the corner from Ft. Mulligans. When I asked the hotel staff where there was a good place to eat at, they immediately said Ft. Mulligans. My review is slightly skewed because I only sat at the bar, got an appetizer, a few drinks and then left. I went there on St. Patrick's day, so there were probably more people there drinking than usual (I'd imagine). The clientele seemed to lean more towards adults. No one was out of hand or being inappropriate and the staff was friendly, prompt and did not seem overwhelmed by the amount of people in their restaurant, which is always good. I got two drinks (which were very reasonably priced) and a side of waffle cut fries, which were great. I will be moving to Prairie Du Chien come august and I am sure that Ft. Mulligans will be a regular place that my fiance and I eat at.

The food was good and it's in a cool, old building downtown. That said, the service is awful. Our waitress' name was Heather. She dropped off our food and the next time we saw her was when she dropped off the check. Even after dropping off the check, we waited 12 minutes for her to come get the payment. We won't be back.

Great place to stop while passing through Prairie du Chien. Excellent sandwiches and some very good pasta dishes too. Good selection of Wisconsin tap beers to whet your whistle including many seasonals like New Glarus Fat Squirrel. Good place to catch a game with three TVs in the bar area -- the sound is usually off though so it isn't overwhelming and you can actually have a conversation at the same time.

The best cheese curds ever!! You have one and then won't be able to stop! We ended up getting a second order!

In town for work, was looking for a good burger, came in and had their lunch special, a grilled chicken parm sandwich with waffle fries. Tasty, and service was good. Portion size a little on the small side. Left still a little hungry. Not outstanding, but nothing to really complain about either. I would likely come here again, if in town again.

Bar-ish but more of a restaurant. They don't push you to order drinks which is cool. Super laid back environment. Our waitress, I wish I remember her name because I'd like to compliment her (dark hair, short, nice teeth, we sat at a table on the bar side next to the booths on Saturday 7/11 at 830ish pm) she was super helpful. We are from out of town and she was suggesting things for us to do. Making a genuine effort to make a connection. We both had burgers. Burgers were good. Nothing to write home about. We had the cheese curds as an appetizer. Not much flavor to them and about 1/4 of them were fried together as one big one. The serving was huge. We didn't even close to finish it. Bathrooms were clean. Place was clean. Nice hard woods. Our waitress is what gave this place 5 out of 5.

Great food at a convenient location. We were here on a Saturday night and walked here from our hotel. It is close to downtown shops and the other attractions with plenty of parking. The food was hot, delicious, quick and plentiful. Everything had a taste and texture to it that makes me believe it was made on site and not ordered from a food service, we will call it homemade. I had the special which was a good sized prime rib with battered shrimp and baked potato. Good steak flavor and fantastic homemade breading on four large shrimp. We had the spinach appetizer which also tasted homemade with wonderful pita bread chips that tasted homemade. My daughter raved about the chicken tenders. Our party also had the shrimp pasta which was tasty, loaded wuth shrimp and affordable. Good salad and nice French onion soup. Good attentive service. Our food came very quickly for 5:00 on a Saturday and was very hot. Highly recommend for dinner and the lunch menu looked good too.

We were looking for someplace to have lunch in Prairie and found a great place. Food was very tasty. Service not the fastest but very friendly Will definitely stop again

Decent tenderloin, it even rivals TC's Point After in DeWitt. The meat was tender and juicy, just the right size for the tender bun. And, believe this if you will.....the potato was actually a real potato when it awoke this morning. Then, it became delicious waffle fries. They were the best I've ever had. No heavy seasoning, just warm delicious potato taste. His quesadilla with jalapenos was memorable, as were the fresh onion rings, although they were a little bland for me. We will be back.

This is an occasional stop for us. My favorites are the Buffalo Chicken tenders, the fabulous deep fried cheese curds with a light and crispy batter and a nice spicy bloody mary.

Situated in an building over 150 years old, this restaurant is a solid place to stop in and grab a bite as you are passing through town. Service was efficient and matter of fact. Standard beer selection on tap with at least 3-4 New Glarus offerings. I would highly recommend the cheese curds. They are battered in house and light and airy. Would prefer a dipping sauce other than marinara though. The food was good for its price point. It is not going to thrill you with extreme bold flavors but solid taste for a solid restaurant.

When I stopped in here I didn't have cell phone service, so I couldn't check on line for a place to eat. I was just passing through on my way home after traveling for work and wanted to grab some lunch. The town was cute and the restaurant was adorable. That's why I gave it two stars. I don't usually yelp but I walked in, saw the place, thought I was going to have a nice little lunch and was way disappointed. The menu was a pretty standard bar menu and I LOVE wings. But they didn't have regular chicken wings, only boneless. So I tried those, then ordered the irish nachos also as there's an irish pub where I live and they're irish nachos are great. The irish nachos were completely different than the ones Ive had before but Id expected that from the menu description. Waffle fries with nacho toppings. ... they were good but nothing special. It was the wings that shocked me. It was like reject pieces of chicken breast or something. I'm picky about the quality of meat and found the chicken quite disgusting. Like gross pieces of chicken breast fried together in very mediocre batter with hard, fatty pieces and all. Then they covered it up in buffalo sauce. The sauce was good though. Oh, and did I mention after waiting FOR EVER for someone to seat me I just sat myself at the bar? Yeah wouldn't recommend it. .. if a bar can't get a couple simple apps right its not worth eating at. They weren't even remotely busy either

Food is very good, service sucked. If you get Lisa, a short dark haired waitress, you might want to turn the other way. We thought we were special, but it seemed she treated everyone equally rude. The food took its time to get to our table, it shouldn't take an hour and a half for one round of all you can eat fish fry. Regardless, good fish fry. We'd rate the restaurant higher if it wasn't for the service. By the way, I'm sitting in the restaurant as I post this. That's how frustrated our small group of four was even though we enjoyed the food.

Stopped here for lunch on Friday afternoon. While they were not very busy it took awhile to get someone's attention so we could be seated. Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry. The cheese curds were tasty as was the rest of our food. Will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

We had a good, quick lunch. The pork tenderloin sandwich was a bit overcooked, but the waffle fries were excellent. I asked for them crispy and they were well cooked and not burned. My wife had a very tasty French Dip sandwich. Service was prompt and friendly.
